Dave “Tex” Orlomoski (mandolin) was brought up in Canterbury, CT listening to the music of a local band, Fred Pike - Bill Rawlings and The Twin River Boys which included a 19 year old mandolinist named Jimmy Gaudreau. Following Jimmy's move to the Country Gentlemen in 1969, Tex became a huge fan of the band inspiring him to learn to play various bluegrass instruments. Currently making his home in Barkhamsted, CT., he enjoyed a long career as a luthier with Ovation/Guild/Fender Guitars and keeps a repair shop at home.
A multi instrumentalist in his own right, in addition to Redwood Hill he is currently a member of the Seth Sawyer Band. He is the founder of Tex’s Troubadours and one half of the Bear Minimum duo with his long time music partner Dave Shaw. Previous bands include The Bear Bridge Band, Shady Creek and Grass Routes.
